Bio

I have been interested in helping people overcome challenges and expand their experiences since I was a whitewater river rafting guide in the 1980s. My interest in people and their stories led to a career as a journalist in newspapers and magazines. I worked for seven years at Apple in internal communications, where I started a health and fitness magazine for employees.

Now, I coach executives, professionals, competitive athletes and individuals to grow and maximize their strengths, reach their potential, and achieve results. As a faculty member of the Academy of Coaching and NLP, I train others to become professional Life and Executive Coaches. I lead a variety of coaching and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) workshops where I teach tools to increase confidence, motivation, and achieve goals. I work on leadership coaching with executives and groups, and I work with people one on one to help them find new careers, balance their lives, improve their relationships, work more effectively, clarify and reach their goals, and be their best.

My passion for health, fitness and personal transformation led me to yoga 25 years ago. I’ve taught yoga for years in many Bay Area studios as well as at Google and Apple, and I lead popular yoga river rafting retreats around the world, in the US, Chile, and Bhutan. I discovered coaching while studying to become a therapist. My plans to become a therapist changed to the coaching arena when I saw how quickly people were able to improve their lives through the process of coaching. My background and training in psychology gives me an added advantage as a coach. I expanded my individual coaching to include corporate team building and visioning as well as leadership training. As a faculty member of the Academy of Leadership Coaching and NLP, I teach people to become Executive and Life coaches in the US and in China. I’m thrilled to have my daughter Kaela join my coaching practice two years ago. She’s a huge asset and has been very popular with millennials.

My husband, Peter, and I have been married for 30 years and have two grown children. When I’m not coaching, teaching yoga, or leading river rafting retreats, I’m riding my mountain bike, skiing, playing music with friends, and doing whatever else I can to walk my talk and lead a balanced life.
